Since 1990, Gehl Company, a West Bend, Wisconsin-based manufacturer of compact equipment for the construction and agriculture markets has been a major player in the motorsports marketing arena, both on and off the track. By having the right equipment and the right corporate philosophy, Gehl has become an important part of the motorsports world.

The Most Famous Race Tracks in America Depend on Gehl Compact Equipment to Keep them on Track

Gehl CTL70Some of the most prestigious race tracks in the country count on Gehl compact equipment to help them build and maintain their facilities. Gehl telescopic handlers, skid loaders, compact track loaders, all-wheel-steer loaders and compact excavators have become the first choice of race track builders, contractors and maintenance personnel worldwide.

Gehl machines stay busy at these tracks moving miles of concrete barriers, constructing protective fencing, building bleachers, laying television cable and performing a host of other tasks.

This relationship began in 1990 when Gehl found an opportunity to sponsor two tracks on the Champ Car circuit. By providing its skid loaders and DL Series telescopic handlers for use in the construction of the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach street circuit and the renovation of the Road America road course in Elkhart Lake, Wis., Gehl became the "official construction equipment supplier" to both tracks.

Today, Gehl compact equipment is instrumental in building and maintaining tracks at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, Infineon Raceway, the Milwaukee Mile and Road America.

Gehl has also lent a helping hand to the Denver Grand Prix, Memphis Motorsports Park, Dover Downs, and the Gateway track in East St. Louis.

Gehl and Racing . . . A Perfect Marketing Match

While the core marketing strategies of the Gehl Company involve traditional advertising, as well as participation in trade shows throughout the world, a diverse marketing program built around motorsports has also evolved.

Racing is the perfect platform to showcase the versatility and dependability of the Gehl compact equipment, while building temporary street circuits, maintaining permanent tracks and keeping the cars rolling after breakdowns or other incidents during the races.

It's also an excellent opportunity to meet and get to know current and future dealers and customers at events that naturally lend themselves to building enduring relationships. Over the last 20 years, Gehl has entertained thousands of customers and dealers at racing events across the country. This has provided many opportunities to showcase what Gehl has to offer.
