Gehl disc mower conditioners deliver exceptional cutting and conditioning even in the most difficult crops and conditions. The rugged cutting discs easily slice through down and tangled crops and dense wet undergrowth. Cut crop is thoroughly processed for fast drying with wide, machined intermeshing conditioning rolls. And the Gehl power transfer system has fewer components, which means more reliability and less maintenance.
There's a Gehl disc mower conditioner to match every need. Choose from among two conventional models or three big swing-frame units. Cutting widths range from just over nine feet, all the way to nearly eighteen feet.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS
CONDITIONING ROLLS
Wide machined intermeshing conditioning rolls cover almost the entire cutterbar width, to provide more thorough, uniform conditioning for fast drying and maximum nutrient retention.
CUTTERBAR
High-speed disc cutterbar features a low-profile design for even cutting. The gear-driven discs rotate at 3,000-rpm, and operate in an oil bath for long life. Each disc features two heavy-duty reversible knives for twice the cutting life. Disc cutting angle adjusts from zero to six degrees below level. The angle can be hydraulicly controlled from the tractor seat (standard on swing-frame units, optional on conventional units).
Unlike some competitive units, the Gehl cutterbar is fastened to a heavy-duty tubular main frame for added strength and support. In addition, the entire cutterbar is shielded from rocks and other field obstructions with full-width skid shoes.
DRIVE ASSEMBLY
Disc drive assemblies sre easily replaceable. Drive stations can be removed individually for quick servicing. Bearings are sealed in grease. The patented Protectadrive™ system protects the cutterbar geartrain from damage in the event discs contact obstacles in the field.
DRIVE COMPONENTS
Drive components are protected by a combination slip clutch/ over-running clutch. This efficient design powers both the cutterbar and conditioning rolls directly from one transmission, which is positioned directly above the first cutting disc for straight-through power transfer to the cutterbar.
DRIVE BELT
A simple, positive belt-drive system transfers power from the transmission to the conditioning rolls. Hinged shielding makes it easily accessible.
DRIVE CHAIN
Positive upper-roll chain drive operates in an oil bath for reduced wear and added chain life.
HYDRAULIC TONGUE
Standard hydraulically-controlled tongue allows easy positioning without leaving the tractor seat.
DRAWBAR HOOKUP
The Gehl quick-attach drawbar extension makes hook-up easy. The 540 or 1000 rpm driveline features an equal-angle hitch for smooth power transfer.

DRIVELINE DESIGNSwivel gearbox design allows vibration-free cutting at greater angles. It's standard on 15- and 18-foot models.
SPLIT SWATH
The 15- and 18-foot units can lay down a split swath, full-width swath or windrows as narrow as 4-feet. The split swath provides a path for tractor tires to minimize driving on cut crop.
SIMPLE CUTTERBAR DRIVE
A gear is positioned directly above the middle cutting disc(s). On the 12-foot unit (pictured left), a single short drive shaft efficiently transfers power straight down through the center disc to the gear-driven cutterbar. Twin drive shafts (pictured right) on the 15-foot and 18-foot models transfer power to the dual cutterbars.
QUICK-ATTACH DRAWBAR
Two-point hookup on 15-and 18-foot units works with Category II, III and III-N hitches with or without a quick-hitch.
QUICK AND EASY TRANSPORT
Both the 15-foot and 18-foot models feature an optional transport cart and truck tow hitch. It takes only a few minutes to attach the cart and rotate the unit for road travel.
