FEATURES AND BENEFITS
LARGE SPROCKETS REDUCE CHAIN STRESS
The high-quality premium chains run in an oil bath for smooth operation, long life and easy maintenance. The large sprockets reduce chain stress, adding to the overall life of the drive system.
ENERGY-EFFICIENT PLANETARY DRIVE
Energy-efficient planetary drive system uses fewer chains and sprockets and requires less horsepower.
The planetary drive also allows the chains and sprockets to run at lower speeds, reducing the wear on these parts.
SHEAR LEDGE
Gehl uses a "Shear Ledge" in conjunction with the notched augers to slice through dry alfalfa hay and other bulk ingredients. This system minimizes the stress on the augers and drives.
High-quality knives can be added to the mixer feeder to customize the unit. Scalloped knives are recommended to tear through the hay added to the ration.
LARGE-DIAMETER BOTTOM AUGER
Large-diameter bottom augers used in the 5205, 5305, and 5380 models help to quickly produce a thorough mix. The 5205 utilizes a 24" auger; the 5305 and 5380 utilize a 30" auger.
The augers have sharpened notches incorporated into them to slice through hay added to the ration.
