Why Backhoe Loaders?

When it comes to a GEHL Backhoe Loader, it's all about versatility. Whether you need to dig, demo, move, and break, these heavy-duty machines are developed to do more in a single platform. Equipped with a loader and excavator bucket with the ability to use other attachments, Backhoe Loaders get the job done on both flat surfaces or inclines; on all types of terrain, from concrete to uneven soil. They're rock-solid and reliable, built to jump from one tough working environment to another. And because these machines are all about versatility, we've incorporated a variety of advanced, robust features for multi-application capabilities that make it easier for you to recoup investment. So whenever you're ready, our Backhoe Loaders will be there—always ready to take on the next task.

Secured for operators

When you’re lifting tons of material, you need a machine that’s built to protect you. Our Backhoe Loaders have an unbreakable DCPD styled bonnet featuring a hard nose that delivers both strength and robustness. This bonnet can take a beating, absorbing impact during loading to avoid breaking and denting. A user-friendly boom and swing lock lever for use during road movements adds additional safety, and both a battery cut-off and emergency stop switch allow operators to stop the machine in the case of a hazardous situation.

Everyday performance

From an extending dipper and rock breaker to an excavator and loader bucket, a GEHL Backhoe Loader is a jack-of-all-trades machine where you can easily attach the accessory you need to take on whatever challenge awaits during your daily grind. In simpler terms, it’s the heavy-duty equipment equivalent of a pocket multitool. Our Backhoe Loaders feature best-in-class breakout forces so you can dig without breaking down, and higher lifting and dumping heights make it a cinch to fill tippers and other heavy-duty trucks with material.

See what’s ahead

To safely operate a piece of heavy-duty equipment, visibility is key. That’s why our Backhoe Loaders are designed to feature excellent visibility in the cabin with wide openings in the front, side, and rear of the machine—giving operators an unobstructed view of their surroundings and potential nearby hazards. Plus, we also offer additional options such as alarms and rearview mirrors to help operators see even more of their environment.

Less fatigue. More productivity.

The more comfortable a machine is for an operator, the more work they can get done. Reducing user fatigue, our Backhoe Loaders are equipped with a comfortable, adjustable suspension seat and an armrest as a standard feature, and this seat rotates 180 degrees for easy access to excavator controls. The control panel has easy-to-read displays and ergonomic switches and levers, and conveniently placed grab rails make it easy to safely hop in and out of the cabin. Plus, cabin rear quarter windows are ventilated for superior air flow and improved right-angle trenching when open, and a regionalized cooling system will keep you working even in the most dusty and sweaty working conditions.
